Many times people do things so they can receive attention, what they don’t realize is that it does not benefit them in the long run. You should seek respect not attention, it lasts longer. If you gain someone’s respect they will most likely respect you for a long time and have a positive perspective of you. BUT if you have someone’s attention that is not mean you have their respect.
Having someone’s attention is not necessarily always a good thing, you could have their attention for negative reasons. You want someone to respect you so when you do have their attention they are thinking fondly of you instead of poorly.
